The History of L.A. Reynolds

L.A. Reynolds was founded in the early 1900's by Lamb Archibald Reynolds. Throughout the mid-1900's L.A. Reynolds Company was involved in the building of roads and interstate highways, as well as, growing fruit trees and other nursery material, landscaping projects and the seeding of hundreds of miles of newly built roads and highways.

In the late 1960's and 1970's L.A. Reynolds Company opened up several small garden shops in and around Winston-Salem. After the road building and seeding business were no longer, three partners started L.A. Reynolds Garden Showcase on this site in 1980. The other locations closed down and this site was the only remaining piece of business left with the name L.A. Reynolds.

During the 1980's the company transformed mainly from a landscaping company into a small garden center. In 1991 the Long family bought L.A. Reynolds from the three partners. The facility has undergone major renovations and utilized the vision of Jerry Long to propel the company to be one of the leading garden centers in the Southeast.
